Police are looking for the operator of a gray sedan or anyone who may have witnessed Monday’s motorcycle crash at the 28-mile marker of Akoni Pule Highway that claimed the life of a 32-year old Utah woman. Jennie Wahlstrom of North Kaysville, Utah was fatally injured when the 2012 Harley Davidson operated by her husband and heading northwest, swerved to avoid a car that crossed the centerline and traveled 150 feet down a gulch. Neither rider was wearing a helmet. Police have launched a negligent homicide
investigation into the accident which raised the Big Island’s traffic death toll for 2012 to 31, compared to 16 at this time last year. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has any information is asked to call Officer Larry Flowers at 326-4646, extension 229.
