Police are investigating the reported weekend robbery of a Volcano man at a water spigot site in Kurtistown. The 67-year old victim said he was filling up his water containers around 3:00 a.m. Saturday when he was confronted by a local male who assaulted him
and took his wallet. Another suspect, described as a Caucasian male in his late teens or early 20’s, about 5-foot-9 with a medium build, was seen rummaging through the man’s parked vehicle, before both suspects fled on foot. The victim was taken to Hilo Medical
Center for treatment of non life-threatening injuries and released. If you have any information about this incident, contact Detective Joel Field at 961-2381 or the Police
non-emergency number at 935-3311.
