HONOLULU (AP) — Weather officials in Hawaii have issued a surf warning for the islands, saying large waves could lead to rough surf and deadly rip tides that make it dangerous to swim.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Tuesday that its warning for all the islands runs from noon through 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Officials say swells could build to up to 25 feet high along north-facing shores and up to 20 feet along west-facing shores.
Officials also expect sand that has built up on beaches over the summer to erode.
