Mountain View man arrested for January murder

A 48-year old Mountain View man has been arrested for a murder that occurred early this year in Puna. Police on Wednesday evening arrested Walter Boyd Bremmer on suspicion of second degree murder in the death of 52-year old Robert John Leong, whose body was discovered January 28th at a home in the Eden Roc subdivision. An autopsy determined that the victim died from a combination of ligature strangulation and a brain injury from a gunshot wound. Bremmer was also arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and use of a firearm in commission of a separate felony. He’s being held at the Hilo police cellblock as detectives continue their investigation.
