Police arrest 37 for drunk driving

Police arrested 37 motorists for drunk driving during the week ending September 30, 2012. So far this year, there have been 1,062 DUI arrests compared with 1,096 during the same period last year, for a 3.1 percent decline. Major accidents this year total 1,089, which is up 5.2 percent over the 1,035 arrested at this time a year ago. Meanwhile, traffic fatalities are up 87.5 percent at 30, compared to 16 at this time last year.
