Navy inks $85M environmental deal with AECOM

By Associated Press

HONOLULU (AP) — The U.S. Navy says it has awarded a contract worth up to $85 million over five years to AECOM Technical Services Inc. as part of its environmental restoration program in the Pacific.

The service said Monday the contract is for the Los Angeles-based firm's architecture, engineering, environmental and technical services.

Vice Commander Capt. Pete Lynch of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific says its restoration program is to responsibly protect environments around active bases.

Officials say the work will mainly include services around bases in Hawaii and Guam.

AECOM Technology Corp. says it earned $69 million on $2.1 billion in revenue in its fiscal third quarter that ended June 30. Its stock was up 4 cents, or 19 percent, to $21.20 in afternoon trading Monday after closing at $21.16 on Friday.
