Drug turn in event scheduled for tomorrow

The state Attorney General, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and State Narcotics Enforcement Division will hold its 5th National Take Back Initiative tomorrow on the Big Island O`ahu, Maui and Kauai. Residents who have expired or unused prescription medications are encouraged to bring in their medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at various collections points. Visit www.dea.gov. for a list of collection locations. Since September 2010, Hawai`i, Guam and the Northern Marianas Islands have collected a total of nearly 6,700 pounds of expired and unused prescription medications.
