The Department of Public Works says users of the Kealakehe Recycling and Transfer station can expect brief delays and congestion while the facility undergoes various upgrades to improve access and traffic. The improvements include recessed recycling bins, new pavement and traffic flow, upgraded drainage features, landscaping, a new residential green waste drop-off chute, and a new reuse facility. The recycling and transfer station will remain open throughout construction, which is scheduled for completion in February, 2013.
