HONOLULU (AP) — The University of Hawaii's law school is starting a new exchange program with a law school in Tokyo.
The agreement with Aoyama Gakuin University will allow Hawaii students to spend a semester in Japan studying law in English. It will also bring students from Japan to Hawaii next spring for an intensive two-week workshop in American law.
The university announced the agreement over the weekend.
William S. Richardson School of Law Dean Avi Soifer says the agreement underscores the school's focus on mutual understanding and enhancing professional relationships across the Pacific.
He says this is one of the school's great strengths.
