Two people were rescued Sunday after a wave washed them into the ocean along the rocky coastline at Keokea Point in Keaukaha. Fire air, sea and ground rescue units were sent to the area shortly after 10:30 a.m. where they found a 9-year old boy on the rocks
who had been pulled from the water by a bystander. A male in his 30’s was rescued by a rescue swimmer dropped into the water, who placed the man into the Billy Pugh Net, which was used to airlift him to shore. The man was transported to Hilo Medical Center
in critical condition, while the boy was reported in stable condition.
