Hilo wins Friday night showdown with cross town rival

Hilo High won the battle for the bragging rights of Hilo with a 21-14 victory over cross town rival Waiakea Friday night at Wong Stadium. The win improved the Vikings record to 2-1, while the Warriors fell to 1-2. Friday night’s other contest saw Kamehameha move to 4-0 on the season with a 43-0 trouncing of winless Ka`u. On Saturday, Konawaena won their 4th game without a loss by whipping Hawai`i Prep 43-0, Kealakehe improved to 3-0 with a 34-22 victory over Kea`au, which is still seeking its first win and Honoka`a crushed Kohala 52-8 to improve to 2-2.
