Police are seeking witnesses to a reported Tuesday night robbery in the parking lot below Kona Community Hospital. A 22-year old Captain Cook woman said she was sitting in her car when a male approached, pointed what appeared to be a firearm at her and demanded valuables. The woman surrendered her purse and contents valued at $150 to the suspect, who fled in the makai direction toward Haukapila Road. The suspect is described as
5-foot-8, 150 pounds, with a thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and long pants, with a red bandana and spoke with a heavy pidgin accent. If you have any information about
the case, contact Detective Tyson Matsumura at 326-4646, extension 277, or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 935-3311.
