Sparks flew Wednesday as embattled County Clerk Jamae Kawauchi and her boss, Council Chair Dominic Yagong went before the County Board of Ethics. Yagong, faces an anonymous complaint after someone claimed he was seen in a secured area of the elections section of the clerk’s office on August 30th, which he has denied,
while Kawauchi was targeted in a defamation lawsuit filed last week by clerk’s office employees. Both accused board chairman John Dill with conflicts of interest for allegedly trying to get Yagong to hire his brother for a job in his office
and for attempting to get Kawauchi fired. Dill denied the conflict charges. The board postponed consideration of Yagong's ethics case until its next meeting on October 10th.
