If you thought your electric bill for September looked a bit more expensive, you were right. Big Island residential rates rose from last month’s 40.1 cents per kilowatt-hour to 40.7 cents.
That raises the typical bill of 600-kilowatt hours by $3.87 to $254.69. Rates also rose on Kauai, but fell on Maui and O`ahu. Overall, Hawai`i has the highest electrical rates in the country.
