Police arrest 26 for drunk driving

The police drunk driving dragnet arrested 26 motorists for drunk driving during the week ending September 9th. The year to date total now stands at 973, which is down 4.3 percent from the 1,017 arrested during the same period a year ago. Major accidents are up 4.4 percent with 1,006, compared to 964 at this time last year. And traffic fatalities have nearly doubled from 15 to 29, for an increase of 93 percent over the year ago figure.
