Big Island police investigate 2010 election fraud

HONOLULU (AP) — Big Island police are investigating an allegation of voter fraud on the island.
Police said Tuesday the investigation was launched based on information provided by the Hawaii County Office of Elections involving 2010 elections.
Detectives did not provide details.
County Clerk Jamae Kawauchi says she can't comment because it's an active investigation.
She said last month an audit of the county's voter rolls found four people voted twice in 2010 elections and between 50 and 60 people were registered more than once.
Her office and leadership are also under scrutiny because polls on the island opened late on primary election day.
