Walter Victor Baseball Fields closed for maintenance

The Department of Parks and Recreation has temporarily closed Hilo’s Walter C.K. Victor Baseball Complex to perform annual maintenance work. Following a busy summer season that saw the return of professional baseball to Hilo, the three ball fields are receiving new sod and being manicured in preparation for the 2012 Poi Pounder Baseball Tournament to be held in November. Work is scheduled to be completed October 12, at which time the department will reopen the fields for practices and league play.
