2 killed, 5 injured, 1 arrested in Honokaa crash

HONOKAA, Hawaii (AP) — Two women are dead and five others injured after police say their van was forced off the road into a Big Island gulch.
Hawaii police Sgt. Christopher Gali tells Hawaii News Now a red pickup truck was overtaking the van in Honokaa on Monday. Both vehicles ended up on their sides in a 15-foot embankment.
The two women killed in the van were identified as Josefina B. Visaya, 61, and Patrocinia R. Cadang, 54, both of a Keaau address.
and the driver of the truck 30-year-old Alfred Berdon III was arrested for negligent homicide.
Fire officials say the crash involved a total of 11 people. Five were in serious condition and four were uninjured.
