Police target drinking and drug use in parks

Police are gearing up for a coordinated campaign to combat illegal drinking and drug use at county parks. The Community Policing Unit, along with other local agencies and community members are preparing to launch an education and community awareness program by contacting people at various beach parks along Banyan Drive and Kalanianaole Avenue to hear their concerns. Officers and community organizations will also staff an information booth at Richardson Beach Park, next Friday, September 14, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
