Hawai`i tourism on pace for record year

HONOLULU (AP) — The Hawai`i Tourism Authority says the tourism economy of the islands is on pace for a record year. According to statistics released on Wednesday, total visitor spending in July increased nearly 18 percent to $194 million, compared to the previous year. Last month also saw a nearly 8 percent growth in arrivals to about 720,000 visitors.
