HONOLULU (AP) — Federal prosecutors in Hawaii say a male nurse drugged and raped a drunken Coast Guard crew member docked at a Marshall Islands atoll.
A criminal complaint in federal court charges Dennis Henry with aggravated sexual abuse.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Tuesday the FBI says Henry put a prescription sedative into the beer of a male crew member of the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Sequoia in March and then sexually assaulted him.
The Sequoia was docked at Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
The crew member told investigators he woke up dazed and in pain after swallowing a lump in a beer from Henry. A blood sample confirmed Ambien in his system.
Henry told the FBI he and the crew member had consensual sex.
