HONOLULU (AP) — The FBI says a passenger aboard a recent Hawaiian Airlines flight from Manila groped a woman sitting next to him.
Luavalu Seuvaai faces a preliminary hearing early next month in federal court in Honolulu on a charge of abusive sexual contact.
According to a court affidavit, the 22-year-old man from American Samoa and the woman initially had a conversation about their backgrounds and travels during last week's flight to Honolulu. The woman had taken some cold medicine and was trying to sleep when she realized he had placed her hand on his crotch. He then touched her legs, the skin near her waist and her breast.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Song said Monday Seuvaai was released to his sister on $25,000 bail.
Seuvaai's attorney couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
