HONOLULU (AP) — Nominations are being accepted until October 5th for three seats on the University of Hawai`i Board of Regents. The university says the positions are for an at-large seat, a Hawai`i County seat and a Maui County seat. Those who currently hold
the seats have terms that will expire on June 30, 2013. Regents serve voluntarily and are not paid. The Regents Candidate Advisory Council is mandated by law to present the names of at least two finalists for each seat to the governor within 120 days before a term expires. The governor will make appointments from the list, which will be subject to state Senate confirmation. The selected Regents will serve for five years.
