Police arrest 19 for drunk driving

The police department’s drunk-driving dragnet arrested another 19 motorists suspected of driving under the influence during the week ending July 29, 2012. The year to date total now stands at 784, or 5.1 percent below the 826 arrested at this time last year. Major accidents are up 6.4 percent at 831 from 781 a year ago and the 21 fatalities are up 40 percent compared to 15 a year ago.
