Court-filed Hawaii foreclosures increased in June

HONOLULU (AP) — State data shows an increase in Hawaii foreclosures filed in court last month. The state Judiciary says there were 378 new cases statewide filed in Circuit Court in June, up from 209 in June 2011. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Wednesday last month's count was the second highest this year since a change in state foreclosure law that prompted lenders to file all cases in court instead of going through a long-preferred out-of-court process.
