Bicyclist killed in North Kohala

A 52-year old man was killed Thursday, when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a Nissan pickup near mile marker 19 on Akoni Pule Highway in North Kohala. The vehicle, operated by a 15-year old North Kohala female was headed east when it struck the bicyclist around 1:00 p.m. The vehicle sustained substantial damage, while the driver and her 46-year old female passenger were taken to Kohala Hospital for treatment of injuries.
