Kona Firefighting Facility

Hawai`i's congressional delegation announced on Monday that the state will receive more than $17 million to build an aircraft rescue and firefighting facility at the Kona International Airport at Keahole. The money comes from a grant administered by the Federal Aviation Administration. U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye said “These funds will help the fire fighters and first responders at the Kona International Airport house and properly maintain the equipment they need to handle any emergency
