Fire rescue personnel are conducting their final day of searching today for a teenage boy who was swept out to sea near the Captain Cook Monument at Kealakekua Bay last week.
15-year old Tyler Madoff was with a youth adventure tour group hiking along the shoreline on the Fourth of July when waves washed him away.
Madoff’s family is expressing their gratitude for the support and prayers they received from volunteers andrescue personnel, but had harsh words for the tour group Bold Earth Adventures that
sponsored the outing.
Madoff accused the expedition group of having shown poor judgment, and being a poor judge of character.
