Gas Prices continue downward trend

For the fifth week in a row, gas prices dropped around the state as residents and tourists celebrated the Fourth of July holiday according to the AAA Hawai`i Weekend Gas Watch. The average statewide price fell to $4.24, which is 5 cents lower than last week, 24 cents lower than last month and 21 cents more than a year ago. The average price in Hilo dropped three cents from the previous week to $4.22 a gallon, which is 43 cents less than last month and 22 cents higher than this time last year.
