Police are concerned about a number of large parties in residential areas over the past week, where fifty or more juveniles were reportedly consuming alcohol. In Waikoloa, a 17-year old male juvenile and a 19-year old male found in possession of alcoholic
beverages were arrested for disorderly behavior, challenging officers to a fight and refusing to leave the area.
The law prohibits anyone from knowingly serving intoxicating liquor to or allowing anyone under the age of twenty-one to possess alcohol while on property under their control. Police are asking anyone hosting large parties to be aware of the consequences
if there are persons under the age of twenty-one found consuming alcoholic beverages at those gatherings.
