The three major candidates for Mayor will appear tonight at a candidates forum sponsored by East Hawai`i Business organizations at the Honpa Hongwanji Sangha Hall. The two hour event gets underway at 6:00 p.m. and will feature Mayor Billy Kenoi, former Mayor Harry Kim and Council Chair Dominic Yagong. Miles Yoshioka
of the Hawai`i Island Chamber of Commerce says questions will focus on issues that affect businesses throughout East Hawai`i and the entire island.
“We’re looking at what’s the future for businesses in the East Hawai`i area,” Yoshioka said. “Ways they can expect to help us, questions I’m sure will come up about geothermal, and future prospects for businesses in East Hawai`i.”
Yoshioka said candidates for Prosecuting Attorney and the County Council have also been invited to take part in a meet and greet from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
