Hirono agrees to televised debate

After repeatedly saying no to a statewide, commercial television debate, Congresswoman Mazie Hirono did an about face on Monday and announced she will now go head to head with Democratic primary opponent Ed Case. The two candidates vying for the seat of retiring U.S. Senator Daniel Akaka have met before in this election season, but never in a commercial televised forum. Logistics and details of the televised debate still need to be hammered out. The primary election takes place August 11th
