Aircraft noise over PTA part of RIMPAC

Residents can expect increased aircraft noise over Pohakuloa Training Area due to the Navy’s biennial RIM of the Pacific or RIMPAC exercises, which begin today and conclude August 3rd. U.S. Navy and Air Force aircraft from some of the 21 participating nations began arriving at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam this week. Navy fighter aircraft will be training over PTA until Sunday and again on July 7th, 8th and 9th.
