The latest on the Pahala wildfires

Firefighters remain at the scene of two wildfires that broke out in Pahala last week. A fire that has burned 400 acres mauka of Pahala is 95-percent contained and under control. The larger fire that has consumed some 4,900 acres makai of Pahala town remains 60-percent contained. Crews are monitoring and maintaining the perimeters of both fires and dousing hot spots.
