The latest on the Pahala wildfires

Its mop up and monitor for fire crews at the scene of two brushfires that broke out a week ago Monday in Pahala. The fire makai of Highway 11 that has burned around 4,900 acres remains about 60 percent contained, while the smaller 400 acre blaze mauka of Pahala is 95 percent contained and under control. Firefighters say they will continue to keep an eye on the fires and extinguish any hot spots.
