Employees at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott have voted to authorize a strike. Officials with Local 5 Hawai`i, say 93 percent of the hotel’s 250 workers voted in favor of the strike authorization as they push for pay raises and health care protections in their
next contract. There is no word yet on whether they actually will strike, but the Union says employees have already signed up for picket duty.
