Case and Hirono hold final debate

U.S. Senatorial candidates Mazie Hirono and Ed Case held their final debate before of the August 11th primary last night. The two appeared on PBS Hawai`i’s “Insights,” where Case said he would not approve a third federal stimulus package to try and jump start the economy. Hirono said the government still needs to invest in job creation to emerge from the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The winner of the Democratic primary between Case and Hirono is expected to face former Republican Governor Linda Lingle in the race to succeed retiring Senator Daniel Akaka.
