Hawaii Stars beat the Sonoma County Grapes

The Hawai`i Stars held off a furious late inning rally by the Sonoma County Grapes to escape with a 9-8 victory over the visitors last night at Wong Stadium. The Stars led 9 to 2 heading into the 8th inning, but the Grapes plated 6 runs and had the bases loaded in the ninth inning when Hawai`i reliever Ramon Martinez struck out George Ban to preserve the win. The series continues tonight with a 5:35 p.m. contest, which you can hear live on 67am KPUA.
