The state Department of Transportation will hold a public informational meeting June 14 to brief the North Hawai`i community on the environmental impact statement for the proposed Saddle Road Extension Project. The project will extend Saddle Road from
Mamalahoa Highway to Queen Kaahumanu Highway. The goal is to move traffic more efficiently between East and West Hawai`i, improve safety and support the needs of commercial truck and military traffic. The meeting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at
Waikoloa Elementary and Middle School, 68-1730 Hooko Street. The comment period for the environmental reviews ends June 22.
