Hilo man arrested for robbery at Hilo service station

A 24-year old Hilo man has been arrested in connection with a Friday morning robbery at a service station on Kekuanaoa Street in Hilo. South Hilo Patrol officers, responding to the 12:30 a.m. hold up alarm, say a male suspect brandished a gun, demanded money and fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash. The employee was not injured. The suspect was later identified as 24-year old Chase K. Tam of Hilo who was arrested at his home around 12:30 p.m. for 2 counts of Terroristic Threatening, Robbery, Theft and Shoplifting.
