There are new details in the arson and burglary investigation of Wednesday morning’s fire at Shipman Industrial Park in Kea`au. Police and Fire units were summoned to the scene of a reported warehouse fire on Kipimana Street shortly after 5:15 a.m. Upon their arrival, they found the building totally engulfed in flames. Investigators say the front gate chain was severed to gain entry to the premises. From there, one or more suspects entered the building from the rear by cutting a hole in the wall and then removed a flatbed pickup truck along with some heavy equipment. Police say they are looking for a dark Ford 4-door pickup truck
seen in the area prior to the fire. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective Grant Todd at 961-2385. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona
