Police investigating Panaewa shooting
|

Big Island police have arrested a Puna man for attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred last night in Panaewa. The suspect is identified as 72-year-old Joseph Amormino of Hawaiian Beaches.
When police responded to a report at 5:30 pm of several shots being fired from a residence in Panaewa they found a 55-year old woman with gunshot wounds. Investigators discovered that the suspect had shot the victim, and fired at another party within the residence. The suspect was arrested at the scene.
Fire/Rescue personnel transported the victim to Hilo Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition.
