House destroyed in Fern Forest blaze on Saturday

A single family structure house in the Fern Forest subdivision was destroyed in a fire Saturday night. Multiple fire crews responded to the alarm around 3 pm on Saturday. The structure, located off Glenwood Road, was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene. The owner was injured during the fire but refused treatment. Fire officials said a possible malfunction of a water heater may have caused the fire, but a positive determination has not been made as of yet. The blaze caused $50,000 in damage and the building was a total loss. The Red Cross is assisting residents affected by the fire.
