HONOLULU (AP) — The head of the University of Hawaii says she will attend the next contract negotiating session with the union that represents UH faculty.
President M.R.C. Greenwood said in a statement Wednesday that she'll join University of Hawaii Professional Assembly officials and federal mediator Carol Catanzariti.
A date for the meeting has not yet been set.
Earlier Wednesday, UHPA Executive Director J.N. Musto called on Greenwood to attend the next round of talks and on Catanzariti to oversee it.
Musto and Greenwood also met privately Wednesday for about an hour.
Last week, Greenwood declared that faculty salaries will be slashed by 6.7 percent starting this month.
On Tuesday, she rejected a union grievance over the pay cuts.
