Woman dies from injuries in Piihonua shooting

Jolene Medeiros, 24, of Hilo was pronounced dead Saturday morning (January 2) from injuries sustained in a shooting on December 30 in Pi'ihonua. An autopsy to determine the exact cause of death is scheduled for Tuesday (January 5). Detectives have reclassified the case from an attempted murder and suicide to a murder and suicide.
