Several Hawaii events will observe Worlds AIDS Day

HONOLULU (AP) — World AIDS Day will be observed during several events in Hawaii on Tuesday.

St. Clement's Church in Honolulu will hold a program that includes presentation of the 5th annual Suzanne Richmond Crum Award to a person who has contributed to HIV/AIDS services in the state.

The winning entry of a statewide youth art, poetry and writing contest will also be displayed at the church.

The Hawaii Island HIV/AIDS Foundation will hold a memorial service at Hilo's Liliuokalani Park on the Big Island.

Kona Hospital, Kohala Hospital and the Hospice of Kona will display "Living Positive in Hawaii," a photo display of HIV-positive individuals.

Malama Pono Health Care on Kauai will extend the hours of their rapid HIV testing service at two locations.
