Honolulu police will put DUI pics on Web

HONOLULU (AP) — Honolulu police will soon begin posting the photos and names of everyone arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Maj. Thomas Nitta says police hope the public posting of DUI arrestees will serve as a deterrent to getting behind the wheel while intoxicated. He says there are between 70 and 80 arrests per week on Oahu. The photos will be posted on the Honolulu Police Department's Web page starting next Wednesday.
