Narcotics stolen at Waimea pharmacy

By 67AM KPUA News

Big Island Police are warning the public against taking narcotics stolen in a robbery at a Waimea pharmacy on November 9. An unidentified man wearing camouflage clothing and armed with a handgun entered the pharmacy off Kawaihae Road and demanded Fentanyl and Oxycontin. He then fled the area on foot carrying a camouflage backpack and headed south into an area known as Waimea Nature Park. No injuries were reported.

Police caution the public not to take either of the stolen narcotics, as the result could be fatal.

The suspect is described as tan, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10 with a slim-to-medium build and a heavy Pidgin accent.

Police ask that anyone with information about his identify or any other information about this case call Detective Sean Smith at 326-4646, extension 275, or the Police Department's non-emergency line at 935-3311. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
