Homicide victim just got out of prison
|

LIHUE, Hawaii (AP) — Authorities on Kauai say a man found dead in a pickup truck had been released from prison just the day before.
They say 47-year-old Daniel Bonanno of Kapaa got out of the Halawa Correctional Facility on Oahu on Sunday after serving a five-year sentence for a second-degree theft.
On Monday morning, Bonanno was discovered dead in the truck on Kauai along Loop Road near the top of Kuamoo Road in Wailua Homesteads.
Following an autopsy Tuesday, police announced they had opened a homicide investigation. However, details of Bonanno's death and the investigation haven't been disclosed.
