Gas smell sends 7 to the hospital

HONOLULU (AP) — Seven people were taken from Waipahu Intermediate School to a hospital in stable condition after a gas odor was reported in the area. Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic said Thursday that those taken to the hospital complained of nausea, dizziness and lightheadedness. Firefighters were sent to the area after numerous calls were received, first from Pupumomi Street, then from Honowai Elementary School and finally from the intermediate school.
